The HTC Facebook phone? It’s real, and here it is. Or, rather here’s one of them. Say hi to the HTC ChaCha. Your eyes aren’t deceiving you, this is an entirely new shape, an entirely new design for HTC (notice the extra long “chin”) and yes, that’s a Facebook button on the front.
Fire up the HTC ChaCha and you’ll see HTC’s completely re-worked the HTC Sense UI on top of Android to fit the new landscape screen. It also works through both finger-swipes and button-presses. And that Facebook button? It does more than log you into Zuckerberg’s social site.
Hold down the HTC ChaCha’s Facebook button and it’ll access Facebook Places and Deals, instantly letting you check-in to places, or access discounts and special offers.
Looking at a photo or video? Tap the HTC ChaCha’s Facebook button to share it with your Facebook friends. Likewise, do the same while listening to music and tell your mates what’s filling your ears.
Not up to anything in particular? You can still tap the HTC ChaCha’s Facebook button to tap in a status update. And that’s not where the HTC ChaCha’s Facebook integration ends. Load up the address book, and you’ll see your friend’s Facebook status updates right next to their name. Dive into messages, and you’ll be able to IM your Facebook friends as well as call, text or e-mail them.
Our favourite bit though? The HTC ChaCha’s calendar. It’ll suck in Facebook events, so you can see its wall, photos and even who’s attending, right in the ChaCha’s calendar.
