Judging by today’s announcements, soon the best Nokia apps won’t be too much different from the best Windows Phone 7 apps, but there’s still plenty of salacious Symbian apps coming through on the Ovi Store right now. Sick of the fiddly buttons for unlocking your new Nokia? With Nokia Bubbles, you’ll be able to launch apps straight away, without even using the menu. Simply catch the bubble you want – there’s one for changing profiles, one for launching Ovi Maps, a bubble to unlock the phone, there’s even a handy flashlight tool. It’s currently still a beta app, though, so there are still a few bugs to iron out.

Nokia Big Screen does pretty much what it says on the tin, letting you display exactly what you see on your Nokia on your HDTV. It’s great for watching films stored on your Nokia N8, and it’s also brilliant for sharing the pics you’ve taken with the 12-megapixel camera. At present, it only works with the Nokia N8, as the Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 don’t have HDMI ports. Despite that, Nokia Big Screen is still one of the best Nokia apps.

You can shop by items and you can also look at photographs of products, helping you to decide what to waste your cash on next.
