HP webOS smartphone and tablet announcement leaked

HP is just about to announce a new webOS smartphone, but it looks like the embargo has been broken. News is emerging online that the HP webOS smartphone is a super compact smartphone. Read on more for info.

HP has been teasing something big, and something small, and now a leak from the blogosphere states that the small HP webOS device is a super compact smartphone, and the big thing is a webOS tablet. Robert Scoble, on his blog Scobleizer, described the smartphone as “the smallest little phone I’ve ever seen. It’s like a large pebble in your hand. Smooth and really nice to hold”.

He also said of the webOS smartphone: “It’s fashionable. It’s cute. Women are gonna love it.” (I’d like to note that I’m a woman, and have no preference for smaller phones).

While Scoble didn’t reveal much more about the HP webOS smartphone, he also said it has a small screen, and that it was a great second phone, which doesn’t bode well for something that’s squared up to be a big competitor to the major smartphone OS’s.

Is a small HP webOS smartphone what the market needs? Is a bigger screen always better?
