Sporting the motto, “smart phone, smart gaming”, these leaked Xperia Play demo booths show how hard Sony Ericsson will be pushing the Xperia Play, once it’s announced at Mobile World Congress this month. A Norweigan Android website got hold of the first Xperia Play commercial. The video, which you can see below, begins with a man running through a factory, where he uncovered an Android bot undergoing surgery. Human thumbs have been attached. It’s all a bit weird and dingy, but certainly has us excited about a shift in Android’s focus, from communicating to gaming.

Overall, we’ve seen quite a bit of coverage on the Xperia Play “Playstation Phone” over the past few months. We’ve covered the new PlayStation ecosystem at length, and if Sony Ericsson and Sony Computer Entertainment can get this right, it could kick new life into the Android platform. Based on what you’ve seen of the Xperia Play, are you convinced by Android’s shift to gaming?
