Yesterday we asked you, Electricpig readers, whether 3D glasses were a hindrance, and if glasses free 3D made it to market in the way 3D TV has done, whether it would convince you to take it up. 55% of you said that if you didn’t have to wear the glasses you’d happily pick up 3D TV. However, 27% were not convinced by 3D full stop, and said that 3D was just the next gimmick being pushed by TV manufacturers to make you think you need a new telly, and it made no difference if its came with glasses or not. 14% of you said that you would wait and see if it gave you eye fatigue, and commenters raised issues about the lack of 3D content to play on 3D TVs, the fact that many of us can’t see it due to poor eyesight, and some said it should stay in the cinema.

The Nintendo 3DS isn’t even out and already it’s had its fair share of health concerns, mainly concerning the impact of children staring at stereoscopic images for hours on end. Nintendo’s always said you’ll be able to turn the effect off completely, but it also announced today that parents will be able to lock it off with a PIN code (And restrict the age ratings of games too), so your kids won’t be able to see the effect at all. Unless you use something like 1111. They’ll probably guess that. Still, it’s a thoughtful touch for concerned parents.

Finally! we’ve got a UK launch date for the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS will be hitting the UK on 25 March this year. Unfortunately, that launch date didn’t come complete with a price, so we still don’t know how much you’ll have to shell out for the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo said that the launch price will be based on the prices shown by retailers, and there is no official pricing yet.
