LA Noire, the new game from Rockstar Games and developer Team Bondi, will come as shock to long time fans of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and their ilk. This is a game that asks you to enjoy pulling out your notebook and rifling through the evidence, and to watch the facial expressions of the LA lowlife you interrogate. Are they lying?

While you might be used to simply shooting them in face to find out, LA Noire asks you to do things a little differently. Will it work? We got an early look at the game to find out.

A Duke Nukem Forever UK launch date? We just pinched ourselves, and no, we’re not dreaming. Duke Nukem fans rejoice, your favourite 80s action hero pastiche will officially be on gaming screens in May this year, after over a decade in development. 2K Games and Gearbox Software have just announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be hitting the shelves, and your consoles, on 6 May 2011 (3 May if you’re lucky enough to be in the States).

If you read our piece earlier in the week about the hidden secrets in Apple icons, then you’ll know that Apple icons aren’t just dinky 8-bit images, and the full versions are often full of detail and hidden information. Now, there’s a sharp eyed Apple spotter who’s clocked that the dates on the calendar icon of the previous iPad’s promo shots revealed the launch date. The promo shot that’s leaked of the iPad 2 shows the date 9 February. Is this the real launch date of the iPad 2? Click through for the full sized image.

This won’t just tell you the weather though, it also effectively cranks the GPS skills of the Motorola Xoom up a notch.

We’ve just found confirmation that you’ll be able to use mods in Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. An admin on Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim developers site Bethesda said: “We’ve always been impressed with what the community has done with our tools. Like the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Morrowind and Oblivion, we plan to release the Creation Kit so you guys can mod Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.” If you haven’t caught an eyeful of the video promising dragons from Skyrim yet, click through! Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out 11 November this year, so we’re expecting more news to be creeping out in the months to come…
