The City of London will offer free Wi-Fi to all visitors from tomorrow, courtesy of a partnership with The Cloud, the mobile Wi-Fi provider snapped up by BSkyB last week.
Starting on Tuesday 1 February, The Cloud will provide everyone within the City of London with 15 minutes of free Wi-Fi access per day. Further minutes can be bought on a Pay As You Go basis or through The Cloud’s subscription packages, while O2 iPhone users still get free access as per usual.
The moves comes just a week after BSkyB bought The Cloud Wi-Fi provider for nearly £50m, and will allow anyone in the area to log on through any Wi-Fi connected devices, including smartphones – the initiative is not just restricted to laptops and PCs.
What do you make of the move? Would you use a free Wi-Fi taster daily? Sound off in the comments below!
