The Samsung Galaxy Ace, model S5830, is now a bona fide product — complete with its own website. Packed within the pages of the site, just weeks before Mobile World Congress, we’ve go the scoop on all things Galaxy Ace. Here’s what you need to know.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, matching the iPhone 4, however the resolution is capped at HVGA (320×480). The phone will run Android 2.2, not Gingerbread, and be powered by a 800 MHz processor — not 1 GHz like other Galaxy S smartphones.
To help make text input a breeze, Samsung is including a Swype keyboard. Standard connectivity includes HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and complete social networking integration. On the back of the Galaxy Ace is a five megapixel camera with LED flash, matching the other Galaxy S smartphones.
Based on the images, it appears there will be two colors choices for the Galaxy Ace: black and white. Unfortunately there’s no word on pricing or a release date for now. Other noteworthy features include a FM radio with RDS and a microSD card slot with support for 32GB cards.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 will be front and center at Mobile World Congress next month. We’ll be able to put the phone through its paces and hopefully track down and Android 2.3 upgrade time frame. For now, the phone is confirmed — if you have any questions you’d like answered feel free to sound off.
