The Samsung Galaxy S Hoppin has now launched on South Korea’s SKT. Named after SKT’s Hoppin service, a new set of Cloud services, the latest Galaxy S smartphone will allow media playback on the TV via a dedicated cradle. Here’s the scoop on Samsung’s latest smartphone.
Formally known as the SHW-M190, the Samsung Galaxy Hoppin packs the usual Galaxy S punch. Powered by a 1 GHz processor and featuring 16GB of internal memory, the capacity can be expanded to 32GB via microSD. Unfortunately, like all the other Galaxy S smartphones (Nexus S excluded), the Hoppin runs Android 2.2.
On the rear of the phone is as five megapixel camera. Inside there’s a-GPS, T-DMB, WiFi, and Bluetooth 3.0. Keeping up with the Galaxy S tradition, a four inch WVGA Super AMOLED display graces the front of the phone. Other tidbits include DLNA support and a dedicated cradle for connecting the phone to a HDTV.
The Galaxy S Hoppin takes its name from the new set of Cloud Services in Korea, also named Hoppin. Hoppin provides access to many On Demand services that can be access from both the phone and other “connected terminals” — such as your computer or Internet connected TV.
