In the last couple of days, in the wake of the launch of the Nintendo 3DS in Amsterdam on Wednesday, we’ve been asking you about how much you’re prepared to pay for the Nintendo 3DS, and whether you’re going to snap one up, given what you saw from the launch. To our surprise, Electricpig readers don’t seem overwhelmed by the Nintendo 3DS, with lots of you saying that you would not be shelling out for the Nintendo 3DS.

The day before the event in Amsterdam, we asked you how much you would pay for a Nintendo 3DS. An overwhelming majority of Electricpig voters, 81%, said the Nintendo 3DS would have to be under £200. Only 16% said you would pay between £200 and £300, which is the price of the 3DS.

We also asked you whether you were planning on buying a 3DS, and much to our surprise, 47.5% of you said that you either can’t see 3D, or viewed it as just another fad that will pass. 31.5% of voters were cautious with the new glasses free tech in the Nintendo 3DS, and said you wanted to try out the 3D display first. Only 21% of you were completey dols on the Nintendo 3DS after launch, and said you would be snapping one up as soon as possible.

Is the Nintendo 3DS too expensive? Shout out in the comments!

The fact is it costs £150 ish in America ( Xe Conversion at time) and its costs £220 ish in Europe. Whats fair in that? If it was £150 we'd all be pre-ordering now, but alas naughty nintendo makes up pay a lot more!

It's a prototype hardware at best. At worst it's a gimmick. Shelling out over 200 clams for something that will probably be a laughing stock in two years time is just crazy madness (tautology implied for comedic effect.)

Come back to me in ten years time when the technology will work – and I have a jetpack, hover board and it's holograms instead of 3D. I'm kinda hoping we skip this shit tech and move straight to a holodeck. It's the only way I'll be interested.

If you buy one then all I have to say is: 'Hello, hello anybody home? Think Mcfly think!
