At a demo of the Motorola Xoom (with Google showing off the latest build of Android Honeycomb 3.0 on the Xoom too) we heard that not only does the Xoom have all the shiny new UIs and knick knacks of Android Honeycomb 3.0, it’s also got a barometer. This won’t just tell you the weather though, it also effectively cranks the GPS skills of the Motorola Xoom up a notch.

As well as giving weather information, the barometer in the Motorola Xoom also tells you how high you are, meaning it adds a whole other dimension to GPS readings. It can also speed these up, and make them more accurate.

“This has caught the interest of the developers,” said Motorola’s EU Product Operations boss Jonathan Nattras. Nattras also said that the barometer gives devs something extra to play around with, and Motorola is already seeing really creative uses of the barometer, although he couldn’t give us any examples.

What would you use the Motorola Xoom’s barometer for? Shout out with your suggestions in the comments!
