That Spotify US deal just got one step closer. Spotify has finally inked a deal with Sony for US distribution. At least, that’s what Peter Kafka from the Wall Street Journal claims. Kafka says his sources tell him that Spotify US will look like the UK service if all the deals follow the template offered by the Sony hook up…
However, the Spotify US launch is still far from guaranteed with other record labels holding out and many worried about further hurting the dying CD market and more importantly angering Apple by messing with iTunes. Why does Spotify US matter to UK users? Spotify needs more cash to keep going and the US service would bring that. Let’s all cross out fingers that the deals get done…
