After being impressed by the B&W Zeppelin Air this morning, this Marantz AirPlay enabled network audio player has cropped up, and if the date Marantz is claiming holds true, then it will beat the Zeppelin Air to market as the first AirPlay enabled device, hitting the shelves at some point this month.

However, we’re being a bit cautious about this one. Marantz says the Marantz NA7004 has “optional” AirPlay compatibility. We’re chasing Marantz for confirmation on whether this means it comes as an upgrade at extra cost, and will update you when we hear more.

As well as AirPlay, the Marantz NA7004 has a USB D/A converter mode and iPhone/iPod Digital Direct via a front mounted USB input. It has DAB and AM/FM tuner, and Bluetooth, and is compatible with the Marantz Wizz App remote control for iOS devices.
