Mobile World Congress 2011 is right around the corner, and Samsung has outed this ad (click through for full image) suggesting that it will be revealing some sort of successor to the Samsung Galaxy S. Is this the Samsung Galaxy S 2, and if so, what’s the evolution Samsung is hinting at?

Keeping our flights of fancy within reasonable predictions, we’re guessing that Samsung could either be cranking the Samsung Galaxy S 2 up to 4G (at CES it outed a 4G Samsung Galaxy Tab, and the term evolution suggests LTE, which stands for Long Term Evolution).

Recently we’ve also been hearing reports of  Samsung Galaxy S Mini, although the size of the hidden shape doesn’t seem to fit with that hypothesis, and there’s every chance we could see both a Samsung Galaxy S 2 and a Samsung Galaxy S Mini. After all, at CES we saw both a 4G Samsung Galaxy Tab and a Wi-fi version, announced separately.

There’ll be another teaser outed on 1 Feb, before the press conerence at Mobile World Congress on 13 Feb, when we’ll be getting another hint about what to expect.

What do you predict for the Samsung Galaxy S 2? Place your bets in the comments below!

I'm doubtful Samsung will roll out an LTE phone for Europe when only the US is ready for it so far. I think 4.5-inch screen to match the Infuse 4G from CES, and a dual core processor. It'll be a beast alright, but not 4G.

4.5 screen way to big, 4″ max for a phone.

For me, I think the maximum lies somewhere between 4.5 and 5-inches. The Dell Streak is just too big to not look daft when you hold it against your face, but all the 4.3 and 4-inch phones I've tested lately just felt right. I'd even like my Nexus S to be a bit larger.
