Crayola: Chalk the pavement in 3D!

Categories: Gadgets News   Tags: , ,

Even Crayola’s going 3D: These Crayola 3D chalks, ostensibly for drawing all over the pavement (but which will probably be used all over the walls too), come with 3D glasses that make your drawings pop. But how does it work?

The Crayola 3D chalks have two ends, one end has a hot colour, the other a cold colour. Put a hot colour (reds and pinks) over a cold colour (greens and blues) and when you’re wearing your funky lime green Crayola 3D glasses, the hot colours look like they float above the cool colours. The product shot makes it look a lot like the Crayola 3D glasses don’t have lenses in them, but watch the video and you’ll see it looks like they’ve got a sort of passive lens in.

Folks who’ve bought the Crayola 3D chalk have also commented that with the Crayola 3D glasses, you can also substitute normal chalk, and just stick with the principle that there are hot colours and cold colours.
