The Blackberry PlayBook has been dogged by claims that it will be reliant on a Blackberry to really play but RIM has now denied that a need to sync with a mobile to get email, calendars and memos will make the tablet troublesome. In an interview with Forbes, Ryan Bidan, RIM’s senior product manager in charge of the PlayBook, says: “On its own the Blackberry PlayBook is a great standalone tablet.
