Sony Ericsson Xperia Play: two videos, one set of hands and a cheap date

At the close of 2010 we found out that Sony Ericsson PSP phone would be called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. It’s coming close to launch time for the baffling hybrid device, and in light of that, of course we’ve got some video leaks.

These two videos of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play are from Taiwan, and appear to feature the same set of hands giving the Sony Ericsson a good stroke, firstly in a Maccy D’s, later, in a parking lot. We’re expecting the next episode to feature a pair of hands and a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to be checking into a hotel.

While the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is still a strange device, it doesn’t look as bad as the first leaked prototypes of the device we saw a couple of months back, when the Xperia Play looked like a hideous Frankenstein’s monster of a phone.

This looks neater, and the controls not so clunky. Still, we’re not convinced there’s a place for this phone. Watch the videos and see what you think…
