Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch will hit the stage together to launch News Corp’s iPad-only paper The Daily according to the latest rumours swirling around the project. The two will appear together at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, according to claims from unnamed sources quoted by Yahoo. The Daily will have bases in New York and Los Angeles with Jesse Angelo (ex-New York Post) on the editorial side and former Viacom digital boss Greg Clayman heading up the sales and business side.

Murdoch has reportedly been gobbling up journalists from The New Yorker, The Daily Beast, Forbes, AOL and political website Politico. The launch featuring Jobs and Murdoch together is reportedly due on January 19 but as usual Apple and News Corp have both offered up firm “no comment” comments.
