Your Windows Phone 7 could be gobbling more 3G than you might think according to reports popping up online. Some Windows Phone 7 users claim that their devices have been eating up lots of cellular data even when they’re idle. That means people on limited data plans could find themselves with a much lighter wallet when their bill arrives. A user reported to Paul Thurrott’s WinSuperSite that he had put his Windows Phone 7 device into airplane mode because he was rapidly nearing his 2GB data limit and data was still spilling forth even when they phone was not in use…

Thurrott himself reports he has noticed data increases. Apparently, Windows Phone 7 devices keep using 3G for data even when they are on a WiFi network. Microsoft has yet to confirm the issue but the forums are humming with reports from aggrieved Windows Phone 7 users.
