We’ve had a briefing from Sling Media today at CES, about the direction they’re pushing the SlingPlayer. Adrian Dowle, the Senior Product Manager for Europe, said the next step in the roadmap for SlingPlayer is smart TV platforms, and Google TV is first in line.
SlingPlayer has already built an app for Google TV, which means that you’ll be able to stream content from your Slingbox or Slingbox Pro.
Sling Media want to be moving into more connected TV platforms, and while Dowle said there were no other partners that SlingPlayer could confirm, we were assured that there were more SlingPlayer apps in the pipeline. The move is part of the overall SlingPlayert strategy to get SlingPlayer available on as many devices and screens in and out of your home as possible.
Would this change the way you use your Slingbox? Shout out in the comments.
