GM EN-V bubble car of the future is here now!

Remember that GM EN-V bubble car we told you about back in March? We’ve just spotted it doing the runaround outside the madness of the CES convention centre. Back then we only glimpsed concept art. Now we’ve seen it for real – it looks even better in person. Read on for our full photo gallery of it on-the-go.

According to research cited by General Motors, by 2030, 60 per cent of the world’s eight billion people live in urban areas. Naturally this makes for a congested traffic future on roads and increasing demand for transport.

That’s where the GM EN-V car comes in. It’s an ultra mobile two-seat electric car to address such environmental issues. Its motors are powered by lithium-ion batteries that, General Motors says produces zero emissions. It can be recharged from a conventional plug at home – and will scurry along for up to 25 miles on a single charge. The GM EN-V measures just 1.5 metres in length. Even in sardine can-like environments parking will be a cinch, if this ever gets released.

The fact that it resembles a prop from the latest Tron film just adds to its appeal. OK, not so much the blue version, but just look at the red and black working concepts. There are no immediate plans for an imminent release date we were told. Not that we were expecting to see it on the road anytime soon. Till then you can take a closer look at the GM EN-V in our photo gallery above.
