Verizon Wireless and Samsung have just unveiled an army of gadgets, including the company’s first 4G LTE smartphone — ironically dubbed the Samsung 4G LTE smartphone. Powered by the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network like the Galaxy Tab 4G LTE model we just confirmed, the Samsung 4G LTE smartphone runs Android 2.2 and we’ve got the goods.
The Samsung 4G LTE smartphone will have some stiff competition when it hits the market later this year. Under the hood is a 1 GHz processor which puts the device in line with other Galaxy S smartphones — though Samsung did not directly mention a reference. The screen is the real unique aspect to the device (other than 4G LTE support of course), measuring in at 4.3 inches using Samsung new Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen.
On the back of the Samsung 4G LTE smartphone is an 8-megapixel camera, up front is a 1.3-megapixel camera and to help make your texting and emails easier there’s SWYPE technology. There’s no word on when the Samsung 4G LTE smartphone will land and Android 2.3 update, but can confirm the device will ship with Android 2.2 later this year.
