The holy grail is here. Toshiba just announced full-size glasses free 3D TVs at CES. We’re not talking Nintendo 3DS-sized screens. Toshiba is promising tellies measuring 65 inches and 56 inches.

The bad news is Toshiba’s glasses less 3D TV is still in prototype form, but 40 inch models will be on sale by March 2012 at the latest, Toshiba tells us.

The screens use LED backlit panels with a monster resolution of 4096 x 2160. Toshiba’s also promising a wide viewing angle, thanks to “a sophisticated view point overlay technology” that’ll let you move your head while viewing, without distorting the 3D TV image.

We’re yet to clap eyes on Toshiba’s glasses free technology in the flesh, but we’re promised the prototype TVs will be on show at CES this week, so stay glued for our first photos and hands on report.
