The Sharp Aquos LE935 is a massive new flatscreen 3D TV outed by the company at its CES 2011 press conference, stretching an epic 70-inch diagonally. Details? Photos? This way, please.
Sharp’s still running with the notion that bigger is better, and to that end it’s just outed a 70-inch quad pixel 3D TV that probably won’t fit in most British homes: the Sharp Aquos LE935. Like last year’s models, it uses four colours to produce the onscreen shades instead of the traditional three, but er, yeah it’s even bigger. A 70-inch screen is actually 62% bigger in screen surface area than a 55-inch model, so it’s even more massive than you might realise at first glance.
The Sharp Aquos LE935 is a 3D screen, with full LED backlighting and local dimming for great contrast ratios, and it’s web connected, with Wi-Fi built in.
70-inches too big for your living room? Sharp’s got you covered with some new, slightly less absurd models, including the LE835 3D TV series in “modest” 60, 52, 46 and 4-inch sizes. They’re edge lit LCD displays that still keep the Wi-Fi. Finally, there’s the LE830 series in the same four flavours, which ditches the 3D option for a bit less of your hard earned.
The Sharp Aquos LE935 and the rest of the line are out in the Spring, UK prices still to be confirmed.
