It’s Friday and that means it’s Sites We Like time. Today we’re asking for Christmas carols. The first person to log in using their Facebook ID (that’s really important, without it we can’t reliably contact you, or check you’re based in the UK) and tell us one in the comments section will win! Once we have a winner, we’ll reveal the prize they’ve scooped.
We love Cut The Rope, so the news that it is following Angry Birds in the Christmas-themed app theme is welcome. Cut The Rope Holiday Gift will feature 25 new levels with a Christmas theme and new Christmas Sock teleport function. There’ll also be candy-cane covered new menus, festive music and new achievements to get. It’ll be free but Chillingo, the developer, hasn’t announced exactly when Cut The Rope Holiday Gift will be released but it’ll be here before Christmas!

On the hunt for the best Windows Phone 7 apps? Then you’ll know that Microsoft’s app store is no easy beast to navigate. With everything from apps, games and even MP3s popping up in an especially jumbled up fashion in any search results, even trying to find a Twitter app can bring up everything from the genuine article to obscure album tracks by random artists you’ve never heard of.
Until Microsoft comes to its senses and partitions Windows Marketplace a little more ruthlessly, however, Electricpig’s monthly rundown of the best Windows Phone 7 apps does the hard work for you, separating the wheat from the chaff and keeping any tracks by unsung bands firmly off the radar.
Earlier this week we were invited to get hands-on with a selection of new iPad games from publisher EA set to hit the Apple App Store (hopefully) in time for Christmas. Some we can’t talk about just yet, but some we can, such as the brilliant iPad-sized versions of Monopoly and Sim City Deluxe. Read on for our first iPad impressions and hands-on photos.
