The Google Nexus S is here! The holy grail of Google phones has just landed here on the Electricpig gadget test bench and we’re about to put it through its paces. Before we do though, check out the very first Android 2.3 phone coming out of its box right now in our gallery.

Now we’ve had an eyeful of Chrome OS, and with Android 3.0 promising to be just round the corner on the other side of new year, it’s starting to look like Google might be getting into competition with itself. If both Chrome OS and Android 3.0 end up on tablets, which one would you rather be using? Click and tell!


Back in July YouTube upped the time limit for videos uploaded to 15 minutes. It’s only being opened up to a subset of users though, and is designed to give Google TV an extra push.

Remember last month when the Beatles back catalogue finally arrived on iTunes, after years of wrangling? Well, thanks to the Daily Mail we now know who to give thanks to. That’s right, Heather Mills. The lady said very convincingly, “iTunes? I organised it all with Steve Jobs’,” she said. “But there’s no way I am going back to court for more money. It was all settled at the time and that’s it.” Right. We’re utterly baffled by this pronunciation here at Electricpig towers, particularly since Mills wasn’t mentioned in the press release, not even by Steve Jobs. Odd, that.

Yesterday we mooted that Chrome OS could kill Microsoft Windows, by forcing a paradigm shift in the way we interact with operating systems. We asked you whether you thought Chrome OS could kill Windows, or force it to undertake changes that leave it largely unrecogniseable to its current state. 69 per cent of you had faith in the dominance of Microsoft, and said no, Windows would not be killed by Chrome OS, but 21 per cent of you said yes, Chrome OS could flatten Windows.
