Apple TV: over one million sold, this weekThe people have spoken, they love their new Apple TVs. In a press release this morning, Apple announced that it expects sales of the Apple TV to top one million units later this week. With the launch of AirPlay, included in the iOS 4.2 update, wirelessly streaming music, video and photos from the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch has become a key force behind the sales boost.

Google Voice launched a trial in August, giving free calls in the US via Gmail Chat. The original trial period was meant to last until the end of 2010, but now Google has announced that free calls in Gmail Chat will be extended for an extra 12 months.

Google Nexus S release delayed?

The Google Nexus S release is apparently delayed until 22 December, pushed back a couple of days from the original release date. Stock in Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse stores is also going to be limited, although customers who’ve ordered online should receive their handsets in time for Christmas, weather permitting.

The Android 2.3 update for the Google Nexus One is arriving “in the coming weeks” according to a tweet from Google’s official Nexus account, @googlenexus. Google told Google Nexus One owners to “hang tight”, and wait for the upgrade. We already knew that the Android 2.3 update would be hitting the Google Nexus One soon after Android 2.3 was released, but this confirms the time frame. If you’re itching to get Android 2.3, there are developer builds available for the for the brave and super techy, but otherwise, sit tight and hold on for the over the air Android 2.3 update that’s coming straight from Google in the next few weeks.

The WikiLeaks app we wrote about yesterday has been pulled from the Apple App Store after hitting the App Store on 17 December. Why, it hasn’t said, but Apple is typically cagey about controversy, and the app donated $1 (64p) of every sale to the WikiLeaks cause. Developer Igor Barinov received an email telling him his WikiLeaks app had been pulled, but not telling him why. Click through for the full email.
