The HTC Wildfire Froyo update, bringing Android 2.2 goodness to HTC’s low end 2010 handset, has started rolling out across Europe, and on one network at least, it hit this very morning. Read on for all the details.

HTC announced this morning that the HTC Wildfire Froyo update is “scheduled to begin rolling out this week in Europe, reaching all areas of the world in February.” We checked, and this does include HTC Wildfire models sold through networks as well as SIM free ones, as the former are typically subject to delays as networks put the builds through their own testing. It’s good to see HTC paying heed to this and trying to get a more uniform release for its Android updates, though we’d still like to see it push them out itself, like Apple does for the iPhone globally.

Vodafone is first out of the gate in the UK, and its HTC Wildfire Froyo update went live this morning, bringing lovely WiFi hotspot and USB tethering, improved Exchange support and SD card app installation, though full Flash 10.1 is out unsurprisingly, as the HTC Wildfire’s CPU is unlikely to have been able to handle it. Live wallpapers are also out, though if you care at all about battery life, you probably wouldn’t use them anyway.

We’re chasing up with the other networks to find out when their own HTC Wildfire Froyo updates go out, so stay tuned for updates.
