It’s official: the first Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC is arriving on 1 February for Xbox 360 gamers. The same content is likely to hit other consoles and the PC too, although there’s no news on dates yet, it’s likely to be around a month later. The Xbox Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC is set though – this news comes straight from the horse’s mouth.

The Call of Duty Black Ops DLC was announced by Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, who said that the DLC would cost $15 (we’re chasing a UK price as we speak, and will update you as soon as possible), and would have in it a multiplayer map pack, made up of four normal multiplayer maps, plus an additional stage for the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombie co-op mode.

Out of the Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer maps, two of them, Hong Kong and the Arctic Circle, will be locations lifted and expanded from single player mode, and the other new maps will be completely new locations, loosely based on the Berlin Wall and the other an ice hockey stadium (this is apparently a reference to the 1980 Winter Olympics ice hockey semi-final between the USSR and America.

What do you think about the Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC? Can you wait that long? Is $15 too much for some extra multiplayer maps?
