T’is nearly Christmas but the work goes on. To help you with your slacking off, here’s this week’s Sites We Like. In this instalment we’ve got a great way to find the best Android apps without having to scull around in the irritating stacks of the Android Market, a glorious selection of ultra cool magazine covers, a great little Christmas-themed game and BBC news headlines like you’ve never seen them before. Read on for Sites We Like in all its glory…
AppBrain
http://www.appbrain.com
The Android Market is a woefully designed bit of software for downloading apps to your Google phone. It’s hard to navigate, and equally distressingly, there isn’t a desktop equivalent to send links, which helps noone. AppBrain is the next best thing: a bang up to date website indexing Android apps available, with links to the developers, and of course the app on the Market itself. If you have an Android phone, this should be in your bookmarks
Cover Junkie

If you’re a sucker for swanky magazine covers that promise much (and often deliver little) then satiate your lust and get an eyeful of magazine cover art over at Cover Junkie, it’s all the bang of a great cover design for none of the bucks.
Flight!
http://armorgames.com/play/7598/flight
A beautifully quirky and appropriately Christmassy Flash game which begins with a girl who wants her mother home for Christmas. Folding her letter into a paper airplane, she launches it from the window. It travels around the world and others add wishes to it. Booster power ups keep you in the air and you can grab upgrades on the way to improve and replace your plane.
BBCX 365
http://bbcx365.com/
A great art project, BBCX 365 takes a headline from the BBC News site each day and creates a poster that either literally or obliquely handles the themes of the story. It’s a really incredible collection of images and a cracking idea for a creative project.
