The Android Maret has been given a good old facelift, chemical peel and a touch of botox. The redesign has been a ong time coming, but it changes one key part of the Android Market policy: you’ll no longer have 24 hours to get a refund on app purchases, and the time window for refunds is cut to just 15 minutes.

Google insists this change to Android Market isn’t to screw users over, but is intended to shore up the business model for developers and help them “manage their businesses more effectively”. It also includes two new categories, widgets and live wallpapers, and a streamlined purchasing.

You’ll now be able to see all the info about an app on a single page in Android Market, without the need to navigate across different tabs. There’s also be content ratings added. The new look Android Market is being rolled out as we speak to all those running Android 1.6 or later, and should be in the hands of everyone within two weeks.

I have it already…looks good…think at least an hour would have been better to change your mind though….

I fully agree. If you download an app you may not in all cases get round to running it within that time frame if you find that the app constantly force closes and runs poorly outside the initial 15 minute window you're stuck.

I guess people will have to be somewhat vigilant but after what happened in the US with people downloading 4G activation apps I fear for the future. On the plus side it means that developers won't have people playing through their games or reading their comics to just refund and move onto the next one.

Yes, 15 minutes isn't long at all, and is quite a drastic cut from 24 hours. Cutting it from 24 hours means developers will stick around, and Android will be more attractive, but cutting it all the way down to 15 minutes is quite harsh. I agree, an hour would be better, and would keep both parties happy.
