We’ve told you that Motorola is planning to release two tablets early next year, but we now have details on Samsung’s ten inch variety: the Samsung Gloria. This ten inch Galaxy Tab, codenamed Gloria, appeared this morning with photos in tote. Are you ready for a ten inch Galaxy Tab?
Samsung seems to be taking the headlines this morning, first announcing the entertainment bundle and now leaked images and specs for a ten inch Galaxy Tab, the Samsung Gloria. Complete with a slide-out keyboard, very reminiscent of the Nokia N900, Gloria is rumored to run Microsoft Windows 7.
We’ll be the first to admit, a Galaxy Tab running Windows 7 does not seem likely. However, with the addition of a slide-out keyboard, the chances the Samsung Gloria will run Windows 7 improve, albeit slightly. We’d like to point out that at this point the Samsung Gloria is simply a rumor and we haven’t been able to track down a source to corroborate the story.
According to Blogeee.net, their source says the Samsung Gloria Galaxy Tab will be released between March and April 2011. If this device is in fact real, we’ll expect to see it front and center in Las Vegas this January at CES. In the meantime, take the news with a grain of salt.
In relate tablet news, Toshiba has confirmed they’ll be covering all the bases at CES this year — Windows 7, Chrome OS and Android. It seems that Android is just one of many choices for manufacturers and they won’t be putting all their eggs in one basket. All signs point to 2011 being the year of the tablet, let the games begin!
