A Foursquare TV show? Yes you read that right. A Foursquare TV show is reportedly in the works, with help from the location game startup itself, and the production company behind, er, Jasper Carrott’s Golden Balls. Will you be checking in to watch it? What would make you?

The Associated Press reports that Foursquare has signed an exclusive “development deal” with Endemol USA to create a show in which Foursquare is “meaningfully” integrated. It’s no mere rumour either, unlike that Twitter TV show, as AP even reports that Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley has confirmed the deal is in place. Endemol is a huge global production company, which has produced everything from Big Brother to game show Golden Balls.

The question is of course, if anyone would watch a Foursquare TV show – and how checking to become mayor of a place might be interesting to a mass audience. We’d like to see something in the same vein as Channel 4 gameshow Lost, which saw people dumped in the middle of nowhere and expected to blag their way back. Could that work with iPhones instead, or would they just sell them to buy a plane ticket?

Regardless, here’s hoping it isn’t just a soap or sitcom about wealthy young urban elites who like checking into places and drinking coffee.
