This story started out as a post about the Advent Vega being back in stock just in time for Christmas, after selling out two lots of stock online. But before we could finish writing the story, it sold out again. That’s at least the third batch of stock to go. The first batch of the Advent Vega lasted just a couple of hours, and the second not much longer than that. Since selling out the Advent Vega has been popping up on eBay for over £100 more than the RRP, with some selling for as much as £390. Stock is coming and going, but doesn’t stay available for more than a couple of hours.

Out now | £249 | Currys, PC World, Dixons

The first three lots sold out in under 10 mins. According to reports the fourth lot was online for just under 2 hrs, but sadly i was driving and managed to miss it again!

Hopefully they'll get these into stores soon, and make good on their “In time for Christmas” promise…. Really can't wait to get Gingerbread on one of these :)

I am in the same position. WHen I ordered they said it was in stock, then they charged my card, then emailed me a copy of my order with a note on it saying it wasnt available. Not impressed at all. even then it said they would be in the following week. That was two weeks ago. Rubbish

Dont even get me started on this MESS! its a shame as the tablet itself seems good from what Ive seen and read but I would actualy know as im still waiting for mine after ordering it on the 27th

In short good tablet bloody awful shame it is being sold by the DSG Group of “stores”

The entire thing seems like a marketing trick to build hype for the product. Either that or there was something horribly wrong with them hence the delay in the release, and now they're all having to be fixed, resulting in this trickle out of stock.

There are a few new videos up on youtube but not as many as you might expect from such a “popular” device. There can't be that many of them in the wild.

The Amico tablet has also been on the website for a few days with the same “not available” notice. However they're not claiming it's sold out

Hi Rick, I see why you'd think that, and it is possible, but my instinct is that demand for the product has taken Advent completely by surprise, and they just havent been able to ramp up production. I think Advent expected to be in the class of devices with tablets like the binatone and the creative tablets, but it's actually had far far more interest than those tablets. The reason there's so few reviews and videos around is partly because review copies are few and far between.

As reviews editor for the site and someone who's met Advent's PR, I can say this has been quite unexpected and unprecedented for them. And as Jen says, this is why so few reviews have been published so far. Not that that's stopped us or anything!

I have mine. I ordered it online on 4th December, paid extra postate to get it quicker. Said it would be delivered 16th December. On the 5th i had an email saying the order was being processed, and within seconds another email saying there is a delay as they dont have the stock. After a day or so i called them because i had not heard from them. I complained and said I had paid the additional cost for timed delivery. Within a day they had refunded that additional payment. On Sunday the 19th I had an email to say it was being despatched and I recieved it very early on the morning of 20th.

It is great although i am a little disappointed because I dont seem to be able to get any apps for it. I installed AppsLib but i get a warning saying that if i use it and there is any damage to the operation of the equipment then basically its my own fault. Can anyone tell me if there are ANY app sites that It will allow me to use? Do Advent have the apps site they mentioned in the advertising of it?

I know you can hack it to add the Android Market but as a not ver techy person I would not be very happy to do that by myself.

Otherwise it is great and I love it. I just want to be able to do more with it.
