Yesterday we asked you whether we needed another Googlephone, and if Google should give up making branded hardware. Almost three quarters of you – 71 per cent – said yes, you did want another Googlephone. Only 29 per cent said that Google should not be making another own branded smartphone, the Nexus S. Roll on Nexus S!

I have an HTC Desire branded by Orange UK. I didnt really understand what owning a branded phone was before I got my Desire, but now realise providers are roadblocks to getting the newest versions of software. It took so long for the Orange Froyo update that I literally drove myself nuts checking for updates over and over each day, just to finally get an Orange branded, bloatware filled, limited version of Froyo. Limited because they cut out the tethering options. I would love to root my phone, but don't feel I'm savy enough to not brick my beloved Android. So… I've got about a year left on my contract and when I'm due an upgrade I will be looking directly at the Google S or any other unbranded super Android phone. Google and phone manufacturers need to put an end to carriers ruining the Android experience!!!

I dont want manufacturers to skin the phone totaly, it just takes to long for updates, I dont mind if they just add new widgets or new programs, thats all it needs, look at windows phone (i dont like personally) but each manufacture just added there own tiles & thats what should happen on android, HTC should just add there weather clock & weather animation to stock android with a few of there own apps. There software uses up to much processing power & memory.
