Murdoch is set to launch a daily iPad only newspaper, but will it succeed? Branson is stepping into the ring with his iPad only magazine, Project, which launched yesterday. There’s already speculation about whether Murdoch’s The Daily will succeed, as the paper will be finished in the early evening for publication the next day, meaning that it’s 12 hours behind rolling news when it’s published. Will you be subscribing to either Murdoch’s daily newspaper, or Branson’s Project magazine, or are you on the fence? Click and tell…

Well having just had a full read through of Project on the iPad ive gotta say its amazing. As not a fan of the iPad (i borrowed one) i can see that the Format of the magazine and the additional features are excellent and its easy to use.

I gotta admit the overall feeling is that its “Cool” and in my opnion its the most futre thing i have seen on the Tablet format!

There are already a few good quality magazines on the iPad including T3 (Gadgets), Popular Mechanics (US Trial Edition) and Eureka (Times Science Supplement) so I'm looking forward to 'Project'.

So… it's a bit like a newspaper then!? Newspaper's are still bought and read even in our 24 hour on demand news cycle because they provide the sort of comment and analysis that you don't get from breaking news. If the journalism is of a high quality I think it could be an excellent step forward and it doesn't matter if it fails, as long as other news organisations begin to create similar downloadable newspapers. The Daily is the first attempt after all!
