Sky 3D has bagged the Christmas TV premiere of Avatar, and will be showing James Camron’s epic Fern Gully adaptation on Christmas Eve. If you’ve steered clear of 3D, then you won’t miss out though, as Avatar is also being simulcast on Sky Movies Premiere and Sky Movies Premiere HD, although without that blue-hued pop.

Avatar will be showing on Christmas Eve at 8pm on Sky 3D. To get an eyeful of Avatar in 3D from the comfort of your home, you’ll of course need a 3D TV and glasses, plus the top Sky TV package, which means all six Sky TV entertainment packs, dual Sky Sports packs, dual Sky Movies packs and the HD pack.

If you’re an early adopter, and have covered the 3D glasses in tinsel for the Christmas 3D TV shakedown, then Sky 3D will also be showing Alice in Wonderland on New Year’s Eve, David Attenborough’s Flying Monsters 3D on Christmas day, and all three Toy Story films in 3D (although Toy Story 3 is pay per view) from 6 January.
