While Angry Birds Halloween is long gone, if you ponied up for the woooo-spoooky version of Angry Birds, you’ll now get a dose of festive fun for free. The Angry Birds Christmas Edition will be a free update for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Rovio confirmed the free upgrade on Twitter. We love Kinect hacks. Every day a new one arrives to make us smile. Today’s is an absolute beauty – Kinect Super Mario Bros! Yankeyan created the Kinect hack and explains: “I programmed it to recognise my motions and pass the virtual button presses to the NES emulator…I thought full body gestures were more in the spirit of Kinect. Of course, Mario isn’t designed to be played like this, so this is really, really hard.” It does look tricky but we still want to play. See the Kinect Super Mario Bros video after the jump! “Hey! The idea of Facebook Skype video calls have been rumoured for ages and ramped up last month when Skype outed deep Facebook integration in its updated apps. Now a Facebook developer has spied some interesting code lurking deep in Facebook. Tai Ater spotted a Facebook code object called “VideoChat” which has properties referring to Skype and Skype IDs. A Skype Facebook tie up would be killer and big blow to Apple’s desire to make iPhone, iPod touch and iPad dominant through FaceTime. Video calls plus Facebook Messaging would be big with a capital B. Hit the headline and head for the comments to debate it…

Update: Advent has been in touch to tell us issues outputting sound through HDMI is down to our Sony TV. Apparently, it’s a well-known issue, with discussions all over the web. We can’t test it at the moment, since we only have Sony TVs to hand, but have you replicated it at home? Give us a shout in the comments section.
Oh, Advent Vega. It’s been a torrid love affair. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab snubbed us with its high asking price, here you were, promising scarily similar performance and specs, at less than half the cost. You’ve been playing hard to get on online stores, and come out of nowhere, winding up as one of the most anticipated gadgets of 2010 in the UK.
