Angry Birds is still top dog

Last week we asked you whether Angry Birds was still the best iPhone game, or if it could be toppled when Cut the Rope gets its update. The verdict is in, and you said that Angry Birds has still got it. 63 per cent of you said that Angry Birds was the best iPhone game, and only 32 per cent said Cut the Rope was better. A handful of you had ideas of your own, with DoodleJump mentioned, as well as (humourously) Alex Kidd on the Sega Mastersystem. Question now is, is Angry Birds better than Alex Kidd??

The Palm/HP deal promised the arrival of Palm webOS tablets and larger phones but for a long time we simply heard whispers and rumours. Finally, concrete plans are breaking cover. Apple iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch has arrived! (Or rather, it’s arriving any minute now.) This is big news for the iPad, but not so much for the iPhone and iPod touch. Everyone’s favourite tablet is getting “over 100 new features”, including multitasking, folders, a unified inbox, and Game Center.

Apple unleashed iOS 4.2 for download just a few moments ago (we’re still waiting for the update to hit, but Apple says it’s coming imminently), but a software update wasn’t all Cupertino had in store: MobileMe’s Find my iPhone feature is now free for all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad owners.

Sure, it’s not quite free MobileMe, but we’d wager it’s the bit of MobileMe you wanted most anyway, isn’t it?

If there’s an iPad on your Christmas list, then this should prick your ears up: Everything Everywhere, the network hook-up between Orange and T-Mobile, is going to be making an announcement later today offering an iPad on the cheap if you take out a contract with Orange or T-Mobile.

UPDATE: The release is out from T-Mobile on this, but there’s no pricing details available yet, not until “later this month” anyway, according to a spokesperson. Just know it’s coming.
