In case you hadn’t heard, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare will be arriving as a standalone disc from this Friday, packing all the previously released DLC from Rockstar’s five-star rated cowboy classic. In all the excitement surrounding iOS 4.2 for iPad, free Find My iPhone and new 4.1 software for Apple TV, Apple may have slipped out another tidbit for fans to fixate upon: new special effect sparkles surrounding the MobileMe logo on its homepage which follow your mouse and cluster into bright blobs. What do they mean? Are they a clue? Or is Apple simply showing off its HTML 5 and Javascript wizardry? They certainly look nice…

iOS 4.2 isn’t the only new software Apple’s releasing tonight. Alongside it will come Apple TV 4.1, a software update to enable video streaming through AirPlay, and VoiceOver to help partially-sighted owners squeeze the most from Apple TV.
Apple is reportedly releasing iOS 4.2 and Apple TV 4.1 at 10am Pacific Time, or 6pm in the UK. Got a new Apple TV? Then you should fire it up and check for updates around then. It won’t bring TV rentals to Apple’s TV companion, but at least you’ll be able to fling shows to it from an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.
