Windows Phone 7 jailbreak: Microsoft says yeah, whatever

A Windows Phone 7 jailbreak? Not something that Microsoft is all to worried about. Unlike Apple which comes out in a painful rash whenever someone uses an iPhone 4 jailbreak, Microsoft says you can go ahead and mess with your Windows Phone 7 but don’t expect them to support it when you do…

After all the Kinect hack fun, Microsoft is being just as lenient about the Windows Phone 7 jailbreak options:

“We anticipated that people would attempt to unlock the phones and explore the underlying operating system. We encourage people to use their Windows Phone as supplied by the manufacturer to ensure the best possible user experience. Attempting to unlock a device could void the warranty, disable phone functionality, interrupt access to Windows Phone 7 services or render the phone permanently unusable.”

So there you have it, use a Windows Phone 7 jailbreak if you want to but Microsoft is responsible for the world destroying energy you might unleash if you do. Beware young jailbreak Jedi!
