Pure has launched the Twilight radio. It’s a bit like a Philips Wake Up light, but with a toybox worth of bells and whistles. This is one for the kids, on top of being a wake-up gadget for grown-ups too.

The Pure Twilight radio and light has DAB and FM radio, plus Pure sounds and pre-loaded lullabies. Pure sounds includes relaxing garden-centre style mood sounds, like crackling fires and babbling brook, the idea being that these sounds will send you gently off to the land of nod.

In fact, the Pure Twilight radio is packed full of sound effects, from the mood sounds (which also have corresponding lightshows) to alarm sounds like a cockerel crowing and cicadas. Bedroom discos are also catered for, with party mode, which has a dashing rainbow lights display.

The wake up light on the Pure Twilight radio can be set to wake you up gradually, the light breaks gently, over 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how you set the alarm.

The white glass upper of the Pure Twilight radio is touch sensitive too, one touch brightens the light and a second touch dims it gradually, and one hit turns it off or on. It’s pretty solid, so when you lean over to slap the radio in the morning, you aren’t going to knock it off the bedside table.

For kids, this is a step beyond a nightlight, and for adults, it’s a bedside lamp, radio, and wake up light all rolled into one.
