If you missed the announcement yesterday, the View Quest BookBox is an eReader and media player with a 5-inch colour 800×480 screen. Nothing remarkable, sure, but the £79.99 asking price is certainly one of the lowest we’ve seen yet.
Is it worth it? As you’ll see in the View Quest BookBox unboxing video, we’d say the fluorescent packaging is perhaps compensating for something. The screen is average, and if you intend on carrying this around in your trouser pocket, you are going to get some strange looks.
But it’s certainly got strong eBook format support, and we’ve not tested the video support, so we’re certainly not writing the View Quest BookBox off just yet.
