iAd, Apple’s own advertising networking for flogging you stuff while you play with your iPhone or iOS 4 iPod touch, is coming to the UK and Europe next month. Bet you thought you were safe from the company’s PG rated pop ups over here? Nope! Still, it might not all be bad: read on to see which partners will be getting all up in your app first.

Apple’s iAd plans were first revealed way back in April, but now Cupertino has confirmed it’ll be kicking off on our continent in December. The first retail partners to use iAd adverts, which act like interactive apps within apps, have been named as L’Oréal, Renault, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, Perrier, Unilever, Citi, Evian, LG Display, AB InBev, Turkish Airlines and Absolute Radio. Yeah, we’re guessing Absolute Radio’s will involve that “hilarious” voiceover guy who wished he had the gig on X Factor instead.

Our natural reaction to adverts on mobile isn’t a positive one, but iAd could be a good thing, especially if it encourages app developers to make apps free (They get a 60 percent cut of revenue). Angry Birds is ad supported and free on Android, so why not do the same in iOS? We’ll wait and see show the iAd revolution pans out.
