Just ten days after its launch in the UK, the Toshiba Folio 100 could be on its way out. After being on sale at PC World stores, the price has now been rocketed from £330 to £999.99. This isn’t a sky high price increase, it’s to stop the product being sold.

We’ve confirmed this too, and found that our local store is also selling the Toshiba Folio 100 for £999.99, which the sales rep told us was usually used for when a store had stock in, but had not released it for sale yet. It’s also not available online on the PC World store.

The Toshiba Folio 100 went on sale on November 4, we know, because some of our readers bought one. So the fact that it’s now been swapped back from being on sale to what’s used as a pre-sale status hints that the Toshiba Folio 100 is being pulled.

Toshiba had very little to say on the matter: “Toshiba UK is aware of reports regarding customer returns of Folio 100, and is currently working with Dixons Retail to provide a solution. An update on availability will be provided in due course.”

Doesn’t sound too positive does it? What’s your bet? Too many disgruntled customers taking theirs back for a refund?

Toshiba rushed this out far too soon (I have one). There was no Flash, the Toshiba market is pure unadulterated crap with nothing in it worth having and it hasn't been updated for 10 days. Cannot connect to my UpNp network media tank (strange that every other device in the house can), and the touch screen is very unresponsive.
I hope Toshiba are reading all the many negative comments and seriously considering their future!
