Android owners are four times more likely to covet an iPhone than iPhone users are to covet an Android smartphone, a survey from MyPhoneDeals.co.uk. But is this true? Do you Android users secretly want an iPhone? What can the iPhone do that makes you lust after it so, leaving your HTC Desire out in the cold?

Almost a third of Android owners admitted to longing after an iPhone, whereas just seven per cent of iPhone users said they’d prefer an Android. It’s not just Android owners either. More than half of BlackBerry users said they preferred smartphones to their CrackBerries.

    I have a Desire and my girlfriend has an iPhone 4. I do like the hardware of the iPhone 4 and I won't lie, I occasionally play a game or two on it

    I would never use it as my phone though, I hate iOS, i think the interface is childish, the lack of hardware buttons results in inconsistent navigation methods across apps and the keyboard is awful. I'm more than happy with Android 2.2 for now

    Its an interesting comment from an Android fan that iPhone and android phones are similarly priced, as every time a comparison is bought up Android lovers shoot the iPhone is more expensive bullet as a reason to hate all things Apple.

    In everyday life we all think about doing stupid things once in a while, as an Android user, I have thought once of twice about going over to the dark side that is the iPhone, but will quickly snap out of the ridiculous idea within a few seconds when I remember all the major drawbacks of the iPhone.

    Recently switched from iPhone (3G) to Android (Desire HD) and am loving the extra control Android gives me over my phone but know that I'm in the minority on that one. Girlfriend loves her iPhone – there's nothing Android can offer her that would sway her away from the design/build of the phone itself which is far more important to her than the OS (as long as it works she's happy).

    More than anything I'm happy not to have to touch iTunes again…

    Dont know why pple want to convince the other person that their phone is better than the next fella's. We all have differing tastes, that is why we all buy different things, why we go out with different types of women/men. we probably all lust after something that is incorporated in a particular os or hardware. It could be the independence that android gives, or the beautiful hardware that the iphone provides, or the reliability that blackberry provides. Who then gives a rat's ass what someone else thinks. If i like android cool thats my flipping choice, if someone else like iphone then fair play. I think its time pple look for something else to talk about maybe debate on how we can use science to cure cancer or something!!!!!!

    Hah – isn't that kind of obvious? The iPhone is much more expensive than any Android phone – why would anyone buy an iPhone when they really want an Android? :S Same for Blackberries – much cheaper than Androids.
