The Queen will be logging in to Facebook from today. Unfortunately you won’t be getting any mildly offensive missives from Prince Phillip, or hearing about what Liz had for breakfast on your news feed, but you can Like the monarchy, should a patriotic mood take you.

As well as the Facebook page, there’s also a British Monarchy Twitter feed. The Queen is apparently no stranger to logging on though, and is reportedly one of the nation’s growing numbers of silver surfers: the Queen has reportedly “embraced the web” and now sends emails.
