As well as 200 Sainsbury’s stores, HMV will also be opening the doors of 70 of its stores at one minute past midnight tonight for folks itching to get their hands on Call of Duty: Black Ops. HMV pricing for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be £7.99 on Xbox and PS3 until 15 Nov, if you trade in a copy of Medal of Honor.

The HMV games flagship at 150 Oxford St, London will be giving the first 200 gamers in the queue a free copy of the official strategy guide book. The first 500 will get their hands on a free t-shirt and “midnight opening bag” with some as yet unnamed goodies, and will be entered into a free draw to win a copy of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition.

Hi Gazsnk, sorry to hear about your COD fail. The list came straight to us from HMV HQ, so if your store was on the list then it should have been open. That's a major bum for you, we'll be chasing HMV to see what happened.

      • Jenniferlucyallan

Hold on a minute Rudi, before you go off on one, that list came straight from HMV HQ to us, so if there's a problem, it's with HMV. Since we've had a couple of other reports of stores being shut that were on the list we'll be chasing with HMV to see what happened.

    • Jenniferlucyallan

Hi Georg, HMV have dropped the ball it seems. That list was sent to us from them, but it seems lots of stores didn't open as planned. We'll be chasing up to see what happened.

  • Jenniferlucyallan

Hi all, There's been a problem between us and HMV – a spreadsheet f**k up meant that some of the stores we posted weren't opening at midnight. We're enormously sorry to anyone who got screwed over by this – with such a big list we simply had no way of spotting the glitch that we've uncovered and replicated.
