Got an iPhone? Then you’ll probably have been late for work at least once this week. The rolling back of British clocks caught iOS on the back foot, and it’s yet to fix the problem. But it might be just about to… and our salvation could come in the shape of iOS 4.2 this Sunday.

A new support document just appeared on Apple’s support pages detailing a “solution” to the problem:

To resolve this behavior for existing alarms, set the repeat interval to Never. You will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them.

After November 7th, 2010, you can set your alarms to repeat again.

What’s that? Our iPhone clock bug will magically rectify itself on Sunday? Or is iOS 4.2 going on general release then, including a handy fix along with AirPlay, and all those other tasty features. Only Apple knows for sure, and until Sunday at least, it’s keeping schtum.

If 4.2 coming before the time change (7th in US) then there would be no need to change current alarms to repeat = never.

Once daylight saving has finished you can create new alarms to repeat without issue as 4.2 will be out before the clocks change again next year and the issue reoccurs.

So this apple support article gives no early arrival of 4.2.

But the clocks have changed in the UK, where we are, and won't change again for months… am I missing something?

What a sack of poo! The whole point with repeat alarms is that you don;t need to remember to reset them every day.

    Sybian is still > iOS
