Android tablet with your satsumas, sir? Asda is the next unexpected stockist for a budget Android tablet: it’s now offering one of the new Elonex Android tablet range for sale for under £100, alongside the milk and margarine.

If Next is a bit too posh for you, can now pick up an Elonex Android tablet at Asda instead. Hit up Asda Direct at the link below and you can place your order for the 7-inch Elonex eTouch tablet for £97, though you’ll be looking at £4.95 for delivery if you don’t want to collect in store.

In case you missed its original announcement back at IFA – and we wouldn’t blame you, as there were rather a lot of cheap Android tablets being touted – the Elonex Android tablet packs a resistive 800×480 touchscreen, 3.5mm audio, a micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi and 2GB of storage.

It only runs Android 1.6 unfortunately, but we guess that’s the price you pay for well, not paying that much of a price. By comparison, the similarly sized Samsung Galaxy Tab rings up £530 at the till.

Resistive screen = likely fail. But who knows, maybe with Swype installed it could work!
